DBS Monthly Faigalotu & Mother's Day Celebration

Earlier today we commemorate the value of mothers through a special faigalotu and a small celebration of appreciation for all the work they have done not only in their homes but within the Development Bank of Samoa. The bank is honored to have such loving and hardworking mothers.

Staff social activity

To promote and advocate healthy living, DBS inaugurate a “Faamalositino series” for its staff members to exercise after working hours. Participation was compulsory, therefore whole staff were able to participate  this activity. This social series is an ongoing activity for the bank at the moment.

DBS Launches a NEW MIS HELPDESK Ticket System

As part of DBS MIS maintenance and monitoring process, we have created a portal for the ease of staff and their convenience to log requests to MIS team to attend to. 

This new system for DBS will help the staff save time from manually reporting technical issues, instead log tickets. It will also add value to the MIS team performances. 

On the 19th of August 2021, MIS team launched this new addition to their maintenance systems.

DBS wins INTERBANKS MIX NETBALL TOURNAMENT and RETAINED TITLE

DBS has once again retained the MIX Category Shield to remain back to back winners from last years Battle of the Banks. Development Bank of Samoa. Families and supporters of the six banks that competed in the competition all gathered at the Netball Multipurpose Gymnasium, Tuanaimato. The six banks were Samoa Commercial Bank, BSP, ANZ Bank, National Bank of Samoa, DBS and the Central Bank of Samoa. DBS not only won the MIX Division but also the overall champions in ranking for all categories. Results were:
  • Mixed Divisions Champions 1st Place
  • Mens Division 2nd Place
  • Women Division 2nd Place
  • Special Award for Best Dressed Team
  • MVP Award – Mixed Division -Tautofi Kolena

DBS & Samoa Business Hub signs new MOU for Business Loan Guarantee Scheme

A new MoU was signed between the recently launched Samoa Business Hub – SBH, The Development Bank of Samoa (DBS), Ministry of Finance (MoF) and the Central Bank of Samoa (CBS) to implement a Business Loan Guarantee Scheme (BLGS) that aims to improve access to finance for small business development.

DBS currently supports more than four hundred (400) businesses from micro to medium enterprises in all economic sectors, under the Business Loan Guarantee Scheme (BLGS) operated by the Samoa Business Hub.

The new MoU provides an increase in guarantee limit of up to $50k to support business credit financing and a more comprehensive assessment, monitoring and evaluation framework that promotes equal access to business opportunities for everyone.

Businesses under the Scheme are supported by targeted business training and mentoring provided by SBH as well as joint monitoring of the business plan with the DBS.
